I Rocked The Vote

Yesterday was an unbelievable experience for me. It was my first time voting at the poll.My last time voting was an absentee ballot. Here are some Photos.
The volunteers at Samuel Chase Elementary School, in Temple Hills,MD, were the best. They made this the best experience of my through encouragement and praises. Despite the gloomy weather, and the long hours, I was greeted with smiles from each one. Thank you!

It was a blessing that my fiance and I were able to vote together.
It was an unexplainable feeling. I know some people are wondering what's the big deal. I honestly do not know. It was a natural high for me. My daughter stayed home with my mother, due to the unpredictable weather and not knowing how long to expect the wait.
The next morning she shared the excitement with us.

Fall 2008 : Jewel Tones
Fall 2008 is bursting with bold and vivacious colors. Don't be afraid to dive in jewel tone sweaters in bursting purples, bold mustard yellows and oranges, and smooth greens, and hot reds. I am very excited about this fall trend because anyone who know me knows that I Love Colors. Be creative with this trend by adding your own twists to it.
Good Luck!

King MagaZine/Budwiser @ Ibiza on the roof top
The Prices on the drink were up there!! The cheapest item at the bar was water for $5. I spoke with the beautiful bar tender Jessica about the prices for a moment. She smiled the whole time and offered to "hook" me up with a drink for $9 called the italian something. It was very delicious and fruity. That was the drink that put me on my bottom. LOL.
Wayne Coffin, was promoter and organizer for the event was in the best mood, as always.
The event was the best I ever attended. The crowd was beautiful, and the music was excellent.Decor and size was excellent. I believe I counted three dance floors, not including the roof top. I didn't manage to stay when the club thing open. Regardless I had ball.
My Photos from the event will not post to my blog, so here is the myspace link

Don't Call It A Comeback: They Been Here For Years
Sorry LL : ( I am referring to the fedora.
A fedora is a soft felt hat that is creased lengthwise down the crown and pinched in the front on both sides.
The hat is sometimes associated with Prohibition-era gangsters and detectives In Hollywood movies of the 1940s, characters often wore a fedora, particularly when playing private detectives, gangsters, or other "tough guy" roles.
Now you can see them rocked on the caps of females. I love these hats because the styles, colors, and materials are very unpredictable. ( and so are the prices)
Imma get me one how about you?

The "object" in the mirror are closer to her dream than it may appear!!
Although I am a very humble person, I must say that I am very proud of myself. Last week I applied to be a local artist wardrobe stylist. I made Top 5 out of 40 people who also signed up. First we had to fill out a Q & A form to tell a little about ourselves and why we want to be this artist's stylist. Yea I made it through that!! Next, the applicants had to create outfits that would best fit the scenario of the artist's performance. We were given a budget for each store where we were supposed to "shop". I passed that test and made it to the phone interview with her PR/ Manager. We spoke for a little over 20 minutes, and I was asked to attend the final interview where the artist will select her stylist based off the entries submitted. I will receive a email either today and tomorrow, to meet the local artist and manager face to face Thursday or Friday. Wish me luck!!
Here are my sets that I submitted:
Target- $100
I thought that I did very well on this outfit for just $100 Target has a wider selection, that made it easier for me to complete the set a lot quicker.
Express/Ninewest- $300
The Express/Ninewest was the most difficult and frustrating to me, the selection was very limited and the pieces that I wanted were not in the budget. The sites didn't even have a good pair of gold earrings for me to pair with this outfit. Although this isn't my most spectacular combo. I am somewhat satisfied with the outcome.
Nordstrom- $500
This maxi dress is actually my most favorite combo. I just kept it simple, an empire waist maxi with gold accessories. When ask why I created this, I told the PR that i wanted her outfit simple and chic so that the audience wouldn't be distracted by a loud colorful outfit. This set is actually for the artist's bluesy and soulful tune. I call this the "Encore" dress, saved for the last and most sweetest song off her album.

My Dream Vs Destiny

A year ago, when my daughter Chanel was a newborn. I worked as a fashion designer's assistant and as a representative for the clothing line. This work added extra money to our much needed funds, but it couldn't substitute as an actual JOB. I wasn't making money everyday, I was only earning commission and the clothing line was a developing project. But on the other hand I was having so much fun!! I loved the clothing line, and it was very much so appreciated by so many others. It was just the thrill of mingling with so many well know local fashion designers and DC Socialites, that make this work so easy. My favorite adventure, other than meeting well known celebs in the music and fashion industry, was the Fashion Fights Poverty fashion show. Ooh to die for!!! Everything from the color displays on the run way, the Grand Marnier chocolate shots, to the colorful crowds of beautiful young men and women. I never felt so close to my dreams. To be one of those beautiful people in the Fashion Industry. I was a marketing major and planed to be Marketing Director for a well know clothing line. I humbly wasn't worry nor concerned with being rich, having a house on the hill with 20 cars. No, give me a mod-deco condo or 2 level loft that over looks Chinatown, keep that 16 acre mansion in the Hampton's. (Now I wouldn't mind being invited to one for the annual all white party).
Presently, working as a receptionist for a Fortune 500 company. A place where people are so proud of working here and being here; I'm actually afraid that when someone gets fired that they will blow the place up. I'm serious. Yes the money is good, we are surviving. But this job really doesn't interest me. Granted, I get my work done. Lol but there is no satisfaction in this. I am more excited about getting paid than, telling people where I work. Most people would say "well that's all you need". Liars!! Why can't I actually enjoy my job? So now a year later, I am ready to head back into the industry. But I keep getting this feeling of what seems to be an internal war raging within my gut. One side saying "just let it be, you have a perfect job". The other side, " You dreamed of this for so long, and you're so close"
I am at the crossroads...I've actually been standing here for over a year.
The Dream: The Fashion Industry Vs. Destiny: Basic Job w/ Nice Pay
